Looks like dark pekoe tea with a ruddy hue. Moderate, firm and long-lived head. Spotty lace as you go. Not overwhelmingly boozy at 8%. Nose is full of malt, burnt toffee, molasses, dark fruit. Comfortable and even-handed. Smooth to drink. Not excessively sweet or syrupy like some quads. Fairly light mouthfeel, in fact. Predominant flavour is of toffee and molasses. Dark fruit as well. Drinkable. High ABV well concealed.
