Appears dark cola caramel brown almost black brown fluffy head leaves layers of lacing. Aroma has a touch of cocoa with a hint of coffee along with a creamy background finishing with herbal German noble hop character. Taste has roasted dark malts provide some bitterness herbal hops this mixes well with the dark chocolate and coffee tones. Mouthfeel has a medium to light body evenly carbonated smooth body. Drinkability: Easy drinkin' session lager with flavor if every brewpu had a schwarzbier this nice it would be great.

What i liked most about the Black Lager was that i made my wife try it with her eyes closed. Her whole opinion that dark beers must be heavy, bitter, bad, etc. was changed with one sip. I haven't had too many of this style but this one seemed to have all very good qualities. Little to no head retention, lacing, or carbonation, creamy smooth and quite easy to finish. Two great beers from Marietta brewing that I tried that night.
