drank on 7.3.08
poured a dark brown color with minimal tan head. not much on the head dept - slight lacing left in the glass. very slight roasted malt smell - other than that, there wasn't much else to smell. taste is plain, nothing complex or intriguing. but overall, an ok tasting beer. mouthfeel was good, flavors spreads well throughout the mouth.

Served with a minimalist head. Opaque black with dark mahogany highlights around the edges. Sweet roasty aroma. The taste smacks you with strong roasted flavor, and notes of coffee and dark chocolate hide behind that strong intial taste. The mouthfeel is rather thin, but still smooth and a tad oily. Good bitterness on the finish, with lingering roasted flavors in the aftertaste. Average drinkability. Maybe someone else will make the next one, cause Marie's could be a little better.
