Appearance: A sludgy pour with the jet black liquid coating the glass like an oil slick; no discernible carbonation or foam
Smell: Bourbon barrel dominates the aroma, with strong caramel and vanilla tones; hints of peanut and cocoa
Taste: Brown sugar overload, with the Bourbon building quickly, bringing lots of caramel; big vanilla flavors, after the swallow, with hints of cocoa; there is a peanut flavor, as well, that is most discernible in the aftertaste
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with no carbonation; warmth in the gullet
Overall: This stout has some excellent attributes but the sweetness is overwhelming; I may be a bit harsh but I am also not a big pastry Stout fan
