This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like dark fruit, raisin, almond, cognac, oak, roasted malt, coffee, and char.

The cognac barrel adds a little touch of fruity and almost maple like sweetness to the heavy roast and nuttiness of the base beer here. There’s dark and milk chocolate, peanut, almond, espresso, caramel, and dark fruit abounding here. There’s a bit more cognac than bourbon, but they are both definitely there.

This is medium bodied, not really boozy at all, and pretty smooth and drinkable.

This is one of the better stouts that I’ve had yet from Private Press, but I also really haven’t had a bad beer from them yet.

A: Pours the piano key notes of a (♯) and a (♭), while promoting a Goth attire. The headpiece represents a silt to sand coloration upon the growth, which respectfully bankrupts to a more sturdy/hardy brim. That liquidation is ignorable on lace, and only prevalent thru an artistic circulation. At the employed time, an opening susceptibility for church windows, inasmuch as the inebriant heat permits

S: A sense of depth to be matured, as the initial enactment (without the time) is a suppressant. A starting commodity that’s light to emphasize the almonds, where the nuances have a root to coat, from marzipan to frangipane. Shortly after, the recordings speak to an espresso shot that’s honed in quality, considering the sweetness comes with a compartmentalized bitterness. There is a dark fruit commodity that’s rich amongst the malt developments with a barreled breadth, which falters the bourbon lightly upon chocolate prunes & honey figs beyond cherry hardwood. In the interim, a cask involvedness to address the compound polymers across a vanillin front, while shading cognac-grape densities to skived leather, before punctuating a sense near Ardbeg. When the time is ripe, there is a furtherance on hops to correlate a timbered foray with a touch of charcoal on raisins, while forest fruits amalgamate molasses towards burnt tar in the agitated state

T: The barrel residencies are introductorily shy to the additive enhancements, as are the real malt workings. Thus, almonds are addressed through innumerable confections, of a nougat fulfillment to a Toblerone Rocky Road gnaw. The cordiality continues to accentuate a firewater stickiness onto Toffee-ettes with a caramelized crust, as bourbon makes the inroads from afar. In this case, an oak enrichment amongst the condiments lessening, as the meander elevates an awareness on temperate & taiga outlands. Oak gains more ground with incremental updrafts on planks, as the reflections are further logged aside the sherry gallivants on dried fruit. That element ties into the more arid states cautiously, while the grains develop a toasted/singed characteristic, for a burnout sensation on the treads of tires. Come what may, an attenuated parchedness on cocoa that’s stretched to vanilla, while lightly addressing rye towards meerschaum, as the barrel stems Raffaello. In turn, tannin post rides the operations with an ablaze touch, which correlates an earthbound bite against the hop dent

M: The surface is initially grinding, before ushering a silky – rich – sweetness to stage the onsets, as an ethanol potency creeps amid the heated diaphragms. A carbonation that’s leveled to ease a sharp balance against a deterring (overhauling) thickness, where the dry complexions take time for a syringed build. These factors ornate a warming circuit with oak tannin provisions amongst an impermanent roast, while excavating a perpetual dry bite. The feel needs time to score appropriately, and a serving to exceed a taster, as the ventilation on remaining ounces is influential on combativeness

O: Aerates more constructively with a smoother alignment over the heated – rough – baseline, while cognac develops a persona aside woodsy/oak outings. The toasted almonds take a soft (firewood) precedence, considering the process was utilized & conditioned per the “mash, kettle, and brite tank.” Coupled with, a lactose frequency that’s minute to scale, but addressed to the end. A correlation that comes with a conventionally thick toughness, but nowise paunchy. Considering that, the practice is sensibly coordinated across the smooth malt workings to the amiable hop punt, while facilitating the late cask riddles

Appearance is almost identical to it's single barrel sister, with even less head to the slick black body surrounded by the same, slightly thinner reddish-brown edges.

An accidental side by side with the original Almond Suite reveals this to exhibit more char, a little more viscosity and also more vanillin ribboning throughout, making for quite the enjoyable enhancement indeed.
