Double barrel aged blend of barleywine ales.

Electric Roads is inspired by the iconic warm sound of the Fender Rhodes electric piano. This blend of barrels showcases notes of toffee, molasses, vanilla, raisin, dark chocolate, and figs. The rich toffee tone resonates from the nose all the way through the comforting finish. Electric Roads used multiple double-barrel-aged barleywine threads that boosted the ABV, bolstered the oak character, and rounded out the intensity via additional oxidation from racking one barrel to another.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a nice dark brown with no head. Nothing too crazy here. The nose is freaking fantastic. Tons of toffee, brown sugar, bourbon, vanilla, molasses, slight chocolate, raisins, port, and slight cognac. Definitely makes me want to take a sip!

The taste is out of this world. Holy crap!! I was expecting it to be a bit too boozy at such a high ABV, but it isn't at all. Wonderfully complex and perfectly integrated. Big notes of caramel, vanilla, marshmallow, figs, raisins, bourbon, some oaky bitterness (especially on the back end), burnt sugar, and Armagnac. It is slightly boozy and this actually increases through time. Overall, a lovely barleywine!
