The Private Press quad recipe has found its way into many blends over the years, but it is time to bring that quad-only glory back for the first time since Year 2 when Ripple in Time was released. Between Raindrops is this triumphant return in the form of a double barrel aged Belgian style Quadrupel. The aroma is bursting with bourbon caramel, spiced pear, and cinnamon peanut crumble. The palate follows suit with an abundance of oak derived vanilla, spice, and tannin. A soft bitterness rounds out this bold and boisterous experience that we are eager to share with you.

Poured at fridge temp but let it warm up for 15 minutes before tasting. Pours a very dark brown with a tiny bit of quickly fading head. The nose is exquisite. Brown sugar, cinnamon, toffee, dark fruit, big bourbon notes, molasses, vanilla, chocolate chip cookies, and a nice touch of Belgian spice.

The taste follows the nose. Big and boozy. Brown sugar, molasses, black licorice, leather, a roasty bitterness, bourbon, raisins, spice, bourbon, tobacco, toffee. The high alcohol doesn't necessarily bring much here. I actually get some fusel alcohols - very solvent like. This is really the only negative of the beer. Looking past this, it's a monster with a lot of flavor. I only got a single bottle, but my guess is that this might get better over a few years.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a bourbon and toffee aftertaste.
