A- 16oz can pours into a snifter with a pitch black body. The beer is topped with a one finger tall creamy layer that has a nutty brown hue and good retention. Lacing is rare and spotty.
S- For my nose the nuttiness of the hazelnuts and a fudgey cocoa/chocolate dynamic lead the way in terms of strength with vanilla, coffee and roast grains close behind that. The cinnamon is faint with a light spicy hint beyond those other things but that is better than when cinnamon is allowed to get too intense. The balance of everything is what is exemplary here with suggestions of medium sweetness and light bitterness.
T- The nuttiness and roastiness are the two main characters of this brew with the hazelnuts and chocolate once again the stars of the show. The coffee grows a bit here coming in next with some medium to dark roast coffee vibes. A hint of vanilla and cinnamon round it out with notes of caramel, fruity bitter dark chocolate, toast and slight dark fruits. Definitely a bit of peanut buttery vibes.
MF- Medium bodied overall with a foamy and puffy texture with just a light creaminess. A moderate level of carbonation. Finishes with the tiniest bit of warming and a light roasty bitterness.
Hazelnuts and chocolate notes are the main things in the forefront but the beer is really well balanced showcasing vanilla, slight cinnamon, coffee and other malt notes as well.
