An interpretation of a typical Bavarian wheat, refined with a little bit more hops and the intense aroma of our very own wheat-beer yeast. Bold and surprising. Typical but yet so different. Deep notes of black currant play well with hints of oriental spices. A tasty treat for all occasions.

Kulhuse 15/4 2017. 75 cl bottle shared at Easter Lunch. Maisel & Friends usual design in red.

Pours hazy amber with small white head. Settles as patchy thin layer of foam.

Aroma is not very strong. Caramel intermingling with oranges and a slightly boozy whiff.

Medium strong carbonation and slightly thick palate.

Flavor is sweet. Followed by a sour and bitter tang. But not unpleasantly so. Aftertaste is sweet caramel with citric orange peel.

Not a typical wheat beer - but works quite well with a heavy Easter lunch.

Hazy amber color, good white head. The aroma of wheat, vanilla, and caramel. The taste is sweet with spices and wheat notes. Full-bodied. Minimal hoppy bitterness in the finish. Decent weizen

Feb. 2014: 750 ml bottle, from Alcampo Gran Canaria. ABV is 7.1%. Orange colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. The aroma is yeasty. fruity and malty, with notes of slightly stale jam. Drank it a bit too cold. The flavour was fairly refreshing, with yeasty, wheaty, malty, spicy and phenolic notes. Not bad.

From the large, barely out of date, bottle, it pours a hazy amber color with a modest head that diminishes to a ring and leaves lacing. In the nose, stinky feet smell to my friend, but spicy malty to me. The mouth gets a smooth bready malty flavor with hints of caramel - much less sweet than many weizenbocks - yay!

Dark copper, not too much foam, bu persistent.
Fruity smell, melon, then ginger and oriental spices.
Full taste, a bit excessive sweetness, sugary. And you can fell te alcohol.
Aftert that, again a light spiciness.
In the end banana and bubble gum, then in the aftertaste, melon and yeasty notes, banana, cloves.

Pours a clear, golden amber coloration with a large, foamy head and slightly visible carbonation. Smells of doughy, slightly grainy and caramelly malt and estery spice/fruit notes of clove and banana, as well as strong, hoppy red berry accents. Taste follows the nose, with a great balance of doughy, slightly grainy and caramelly malt, estery spice/fruit and strong hoppy accents, with notes of clove, banana, redcurrant and gooseberry. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some estery spice and red berries lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

A very nice and somewhat unusual Weizenbock that features a rather intriguing balance of the typical estery yeast notes of clove and banana, as well as some distinct hoppy berry notes of redcurrant and lighter gooseberry that work together rather well here and make me think that this was probably brewed with Calista hops. In fact, I would bet money on that. A very enjoyable brew that is both easy-drinking and somewhat intriguing at the same time, featuring a great balance of sweet, bitter, estery and hoppy notes.

L- Bottle-conditioned. Rested for a week yet still very cloudy on the pour. Hard to judge the colour under halogen light but it seems to be a very hazy orange-brown, with a 2mm white head.
S- Both spicy + fruity.
T- Stone-fruits, plum first into a melange of light fresh stewed fruit. The flavour is quite dry and piquant/zingy.
F- First-off, it doesn't come over as 7.1% ABV, that's well hidden, blind-tasted I'd guess say 6.0%. It's also brighter and more refreshing than you might expect from a 7.1%. It's depth and mouthfeel really only begins to open up beyond average as it warms a touch.
O- Interesting in that it's something a bit different. I am enjoying it, but priced as a higher% speciality of sorts in the UK I'm not sure if I'm wowed enough to buy this again.
750ml bottle BB: 26/11/2020.

L: Pours a slightly hazy orange reddish color with a medium white head that dissipates rather quickly and leaves no lacing on the glass.

S: Lots of wheat, notes of clove and coriander, notes of banana, some notes of stone fruit.

T: Wheat, and doughy, notes of clove and coriander, with banana, some dark stone fruits and a alcohol in the background.

F: Creamy mouthfeel and pretty full body.

O: This is fairly unspectacular, it doesn't taste bad but nothing stands out abut it.

From Alcampo. In Teku glass. Playing Avadon 3. Very correct, with pleasant wheaty notes and well adjusted alcohol, giving it a nice touch without affecting head.In fact, it's fairly sessionable

Date: 19/9/8.

Pours a hazy orange gold with an inch or 2 of initial foam, shrinks very slowly, very nice lacing.

Smells of caramel malt, wheat, light citrus, a bit of spice, some cloves and coriander.

Caramel malt, big flavour of wheat, cloves, light fruity tartness. Hoppy as well with light citrus..orange peel?

Nice mouthfeel, enjoyable sipping beer
that I enjoy sipping because of the flavours, not because of intrusive alcohol.
