Pours a cloudy, golden amber coloration with a medium, fluffy, lasting head. Smells of biscuity, slightly caramelly malt and tropical/citrus hops, with notes of mango and grapefruit. Taste is a great balance of biscuity, slightly caramelly malt and bitter, herbal, fruity, slightly floral, spicy and resinous hops, with tropical and citrus notes of mango and grapefruit, as well as just a hint of pine and black pepper. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some mango, grapefruit and herbal, piney accents lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This is a nice West Coast IPA that's quite bitter and herbal, with spicy, floral and resinous accents as well as tropical and citrus notes. There's a lot going on here, with quite a variety of hoppy notes, but balanced really nicely, with the caramel malts adding a bit of sweetness and rounding things out very nicely. Overall, this makes for an enjoyable West Coast IPA with a great balance of bitter, herbal and floral, fruity hops and good malt backbone and great aroma.
