Cloudy, dirty gold color. The bar-poured head is modest but it leaves an excellent blanket of lace on the glass.
Grapefruit rind aroma (like many of Rockport's beers). Some semisweet malt smells but well in the background.
The malt upfront is subtle and unassuming. The hop doesn't exactly dominate the beer as much as provides the major flavors overall. The carbonation is lower to make a richer beer despite the predictable body. The finish has some vegetal elements but it's mostly like black pepper. The aftertaste is lengthy.

Drinking out of a sampler at the brewery.
Pours a hazy light yellow with a frothy head.
Somewhat fruity smell.
Mediocre mouth feel.
Some taste of tangarine.
Weak overall

Picked this up back in September at Kelley Square Liquors in Worcester, Massachusetts. Never had anything from Rockport before as this turned out to be a solid offering from them.
While this was a relatively textbook example of a New England IPA, there was still enough to enjoy here from the get-go. Golden and hazy in appearance, this was topped off with plenty of foam as it quietly settled down. Lots of suds remained down the side of my pint glass as each layer was well-defined and bled down to the next. Dank hops, melon, and a touch of bread were in the nose as the taste was equally full-bodied and flavorful. Plenty to chew on here, both proverbially and figuratively, with a lively carbonation keeping this fun throughout. A light stone fruit presence kept this lively as this was subtly slick and easy to quaff.
The amount of alcohol here was perfect for the style as I only felt a slight buzz and warming take hold during my time with this. Canned on 3/26 of this year with “JETTY JUICE” written below it, this held up well even though a bit of dark sediment ended up at the bottom of the liquid. While not a standout example of the style, there was enough to like here as this would be worthy to take out for a day of fishing on the breakwater!

I got it at Fleur Cuisine in Rockport on tap and liked it a lot - got two. Would get it again.

Solid entry juice bomb - with a slight dry finish. The first sensation is fruit - melon and citrus - which holds throughout a slow glass. Light amber, hazy - a half inch head on pour, and there is still lacing on my empty tulip glass. From a can dated nine days (important - please, bring back bottles). Will buy again if < three weeks.
