Pint on tap at Ellis Creek Fish Camp (SC).
Appearance. Clear dark reddish-brown body with a very durable beige head.
This brown ale leans to the bold side with relatively high loads of both hops and dark malts. Good balance is maintained but the aroma and flavor lean hoppy.

Canned 2021/02/16
Pours a med frothy fizzy almost 1 finger brown head with moderate retention, a bit of lacing, very dark molasses brown color
Nose brings nice brown malts, some toasted notes, biscuity toffee and caramel, sweet sticky toffee, hint of baking spice and toasted sweet bread, light roast as well
Taste starts with more malts, biscuity brown malts again with more caramel, sweet toffee, a bit of molasses brown sugar, into mild roast and hint of coffee, plenty of toasted flavors including toasted sweet bread again, smooth mild baking spices, touch of vanilla even, then light herbal spicy hops with lighter bitterness, but then ramps to a med spicy hop bitterness on the back end, finishes mild dry sticky but fairly bitter as well, nice lingering spicy hop bitterness
Mouth is med to fuller bod, a little creamy even, med frothy carb
Overall very nice American brown ale, great malt characters as a base, hops are on the lighter side but finish very strong like a good American brown should, so very well done. I hope I have more of their beers in my big box from my South Carolina haul.
