Dark amber in color. Nose is piney and slightly boozy on the nose. Taste was sweet that faded to a piney/citrus flavor that quickly gave way to the bitterness. The bitterness is where this beer shines in my opinion. Good beer.

Hoppy, balanced and clearly built for the beach, Tidal Creek Brewhouse has us California dreaming with their West Coast-styled IPA.
Pouring golden and light amber, Grand Strand builds a dense and foamy lather along with a juicy scent of citrus, hints of tropical fruit, stone fruit and spruce. But the taste enjoys a sweeter tone of caramel, honey, toast and nuttiness to suggest a mild taste of granola early on the palate.
A quick shift of flavors happens as ale hits the mid-palate. Sweetness starts to drift and the hoppier flavors of pink grapefruit and orange with softer suggestions of apricot and pineapple in a juicier taste and texture. Trending bitter and drying, the late palate shares a bitter profile of pine needle, fresh grass clippings and a pleasant sense of resins.
Clearly bitter balanced and trending dry in finish, the beer is a softer take on the west coast style, finishing maltier and less gripping than the classic San Diego examples, yet pleasant, clean and refreshing all the while.

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a deep golden color with a 1/2 inch head .Smell is of pine, citrus. Taste follows the aroma, dank, moderate to significant bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is an enjoyable beer.

From a 16oz can dated 7/26/22 into a pint glass.
Pours a golden brownish color with maybe half a finger of white head. Pretty poor retention nd little to no lacing.
Things improve on the nose. A nice mild piney aroma and very strong dankness lets loose as the beer warms.
Taste follows. Pine, just a hair of citrus juiciness. Nice dankness on warming.
Slightly thin with light stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lingering bitter aftertaste. Very low carbonation.
First beer from Tidal Creek. Only dings are on the visual presentation. Otherwise, this is a decent representation of a WCIPA.

I’m a dark brew kinda guy. Had lunch at a restaurant in Charleston and was in the mood for a beer. No dark ones on the menu so I when with this one to keep it Low Country. Very classic IPA. Clear golden hue. Not much head but I think it was from the way the bar tender poured it. Can’t say anything exceptional but it’s a decent beer.
