Murky dark brown, approaching black, with a thin, bubbly, airy, tan head at first that’s eventually replaced by the slowest-building thin, creamy, milky cap of nitro or Guinness-looking head of the same color.
Hints of chocolate, coffee, toffee, vanilla chews and fairly strong almond in the nose, along with some clear alcohol.
Almond is the dominant flavor in the taste, joined by strong wood, whispers of some of the other elements from the aroma, and strong alcohol burn. There’s some character to the bourbon on the backend.
Super creamy feel that makes me almost certain this was from nitro.
I really enjoyed the previous RIS I had from them. This one has much less character and depth. I usually appreciate big barrel presence, but this one’s almond leanings aren’t to my preference.
