Rich and roasty oatmeal stout brewed with oats to add a layer of creaminess. Expect flavors of dark chocolate and black coffee. Brewed in honor of the brewer's dog, Bandit. RIP, baby girl.

I love OTB! Their location at the southwest corner of W Walnut & N Prince Streets places them only a few blocks from my mother's house, so I CANbine a visit to her place with a stop at the brewery. Better yet, they release (at least) one new beer every week, making it even more CANpelling to stop in to get a Crowler to go for The CANQuest (tm). I am curious to see what they release each week & I have been diligent about stopping in. CAN'tget much fresher than this!
From the Crowler/CAN: "10/30".
I have said repeatedly that my big bugaboo with Crowlers is the initial Glug following the Crack! of the vent. Their CANstruction CANsists of a larger vent that sits further back from the lip than on regular-sized CANs & CAN lead to dribbling. Practice makes perfect & so I CANducted my Glug over the trash CAN, but without incident! 8=) I did get a pseudo-cascade, though, which settled into two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, deep-tan/light-brown head with decent retention. Color was absolutely, positively, utterly Black/Opaque (SRM = 44), not only allowing ZERO light penetration, but sucking some of the light out of the room! 8=O Nose smelled richly of Dark Chocolate! How do I know? A co-worker really digs chocolate & I bring in bags to share. Dove Dark Chocolate with Almonds is like crack-speed, really revving everybody up! We have that only every once in a while as a result. Mouthfeel was medium, but very soft & slick on the tongue, almost oily. The taste was mainly of dark chocolate with a light coffee roastiness. Mmm. Finish was semi-dry. Had they not mentioned the use of oatmeal, I would have thought it to be a dry Irish Stout. YMMV.
