It has been a very strange day! I am working the night shift, which I like, much to the chagrin of my CANplaining younger co-workers. I spent the entire night offloading a trailer of bubble wrap (!) for further transfer, came home & died (took a long, deep nap), caught a shower & am now watching (sort of - it's on, behind me) Wednesday Afternoon Football. 8=O I may be off of the NFL, but this is a once-in-a-lifetime event.
From the Crowler/CAN: "11 - 21".
I Crack!ed open the oversized vent on this latest oversized CAN/Crowler to begin a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. I have become quite proficient at doing so with no runs, drips or errors as Johnny Bench used to say while shilling for Krylon spray paint. This produced two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with very good retention. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose smelled citrusy, but more like orange/CANgerine than the usual grapefruit. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was perhaps less tropical than they had intended as the was a pronounced citrusy bitterness throughout that dominated the tropical fruitiness of the Motueka. The Law of Unintended CANsequences dictated that this was actually okay by me as I prefer bitterness to fruitiness. Finish was semi-dry to dry. It was not a clinker, but it was not the best beer that I have had from them, either. Shrug. YMMV.
