Layers of dark, roasted and caramel malts hide the high ABV in this Imperial Stout. We filled two Maker's Mark barrels and two Booker's Bourbon barrels with this stout, leaving only a single keg for an un-aged offering. Served on nitro. Slow down.
Hops: Nugget
Malts: Pale, Roasted Barley, Chocolate, Caramunich, Vienna

Poured from a stubby bottle into a chalice: color is solid black, head is tan but dissipates immediately with no ring, no lacing.
Smell is sweet dark malt, roast, chocolate, fruit, some booze and vanilla.
Taste is more sweet dark malt with a fruity/dark fruit quality, more roast, dark chocolate, booze, vanilla.
Mouthfeel is low carbonation, moderate sweetness, low/moderate bitterness.
Overall a sweet/dark fruit barrel aged stout with back end bourbon/barrel qualities; a little flat but still an interesting drink.

12 oz stubby bottle. This release is 21 Months aged in Thistle Finch Rye Barrel, then conditioned on Passenger Coffee Beans
pours almost black, when held up some light gets through the edges of the glass. thin tan colored head that fades. aroma is pleasant espresso, boozy whiskey, woody, a little vanilla. similar taste, it's a touch sweet to start but is a little hot in the finish. medium bodied, I would prefer more full bodied for this type of beer.
