English Barleywine with a sticky honey-like malt presence served on our beer engine at 50F. We aged this barleywine in stainless for 9 months to restrain the alcohol and allow the malt profile to smooth out. The rest of this batch is sitting in Knob Creek and Woodford oak barrels.

Gues tap draft pour at Cartel. Gorgeous dark brown body with minimal foam. Strong toffee presence and very little in the way of hops. Sweet finish. The alcohol is not prominent. Absolutely perfect beer.

Looking forward to BA version of course, but the base beer from the hand pump was very nice.
The presentation was perfect. Loads of slowly ascending tiny bubbles formed a firm looking, long lasting cap of dense, bone white foam. The taste was lightly spiced dates and sweet nuts with hints of black tea and honey up front, drying toward the finish of potpourri and faint heat.
