Served in an imperial pint glass at the brewpub.
According to the menu, this is a nice amber bock hopped with Czech Saaz hops. Fair enough. It pours a lightly-hazy sunset amber topped by a finger of light cream foam. The nose comprises grass, very light orange peel, light sour cream, and a kiss of sweet biscuit. The taste brings in more of the same, though a strong vein of mild toffee pervades the mid-background. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda drying-ish finish. Overall, a decent enough beer, but I feel the noble hops worked against the inherently somewhat-sweetness of the base bock. Something tells me a bock is not the right base beer to make hop-heavy...
