Pours clear, deep coppery body topped by mid-sized beige, foamy head. Aroma is Munich malt sweetness, nuts, bread crust and a whiff of alcohol. Moderately sweet but not overly so, with rich Munich malt flavor, melanoidins expressed as bread crust, mild noble-hop spiciness and although the balance remains entirely on the malty side, hoppy bitterness is perceivable, getting more prominent towards the relatively dry, nutty finish. Medium bodied and crispy on the palate. (500 ml, Best Before 21. May 2011, into tulip).
In short: A crispy, bitter-sweet and nutty, surprisingly dry-finishing Munich Dunkel.
