A malty, traditional Kolsch with a slightly sweet flavor and a bright citrus character. Rice adds a nutty and light toasted taste, which becomes very prominent in the back and creates a soft mouthfeel for a pleasant, balanced experience.

Singing a familiar song for the tastebuds, Dokkaebier reigns in the popular Asian grain for a pleasant toasty and nutty flavor to their Kolsch-styled ale- rice, rice baby!
Near bright and glowing with a golden straw appearance, Rice Kolsch carries a mild floral scent across a fluffy white froth. As a mild mannered sweetness glosses the tongue, notions of honeysuckle, light bread and wafer take hold.
Hop flavors make a debut as a slight fruitiness of apple and citrus add a level of intrigue to the light and bready beer, steering then toward a spicy bitterness of mint, herbal grasses and hay for a pleasant offset of sweetness.
Drying the kolsch-styled beer to near pilsner levels, the rice only really adds lightness and a slight floral character to what is a crisp, clean and refreshing beer flavored beer.

Copper in color. Nice tight white head. Nose is similar to a lager, malt characteristics. Taste is a but funky and not in a good way. Some strange flavors.

Pours a clear amber with plenty of foam in the chalice. Cereal aroma with a touch of resins. Lush and sudsy mouthfeel. Clean, clear, and refreshing. The rice flavor seems enhanced by the touch of leafy hops. More than a hint of bitterness but nicely balanced. This is just so good with quite a substantial flavor. I have been craving better beers in the lighter styles and this one hits the spot. It may not be the textbook German-style Kolsch but it's a great twist. From the 16 oz can purchased at O'Shea's.
