Oh how I miss this style of beer! This is an excellent example of the style.
Bought a six pack of 16 oz cans at the brewery. Poured into a tulip glass. Absolutely beautiful fluffy beige head atop a dark brown color body,great curtain lacing. Very nice citrus smell and taste overplayed with very dark roasted malt. Dark chocolate flavor with some dark toasted pumpernickel. Never loses the citrus and slightly piney background. Good bitter finish.
Was not surprised to learn this beer won a silver medal at the North American Brewers Association this year. Excellent beer! Now let’s see an imperial red IPA!
