Finally bubbled head that dissipated quickly giving the impression of a relatively thin body. Smells somewhat like a nostalgic craft NEIPA, reminding me of some of the ubiquitous citra and mosaic beers of the craft boom. And at first blush, that’s what you get on the palate… until you notice the lime zest and (believe it or not) the slight coconut/ piña colada of motueka. Overall, it’s bright, acidic and sharp but finishes equal parts dry and lingering sweet. This beer being extremely local to me and quite fresh makes it a tasty experience, but for me… motueka has become one of the most overused hops. I don’t vibe with the flavors it radiates and I think it hurts the beer. But if you’re fundamentally new school and tropical fruity essence is paramount for you, then you will love this beer because it delivers a nice assertive punch of citrus, tropical fruit.
