From a sixteen ounce aluminum can, this brew pours as a black liquid (no hue when held to the light). The head is tan, rocky, thick, and steady. The aroma has serious roasted notes...coffee, roasted grains, a hint of smoke. The taste is balanced, if not just a little dry. Firm bitterness in the mid-taste. Some chalky qualities. Full in body. I found this to be a solid stout.

Pours a deep brown-black with a considerable amount of dark tan-colored head that stick around for a little while. Aroma is dominated by roasted and charred malts, with a hint of molasses. Typical stout flavor of roasted and charred malts with some minor but notable dark fruit and molasses notes. somewhat syrupy feeling, but not super boozy feeling despite the ABV. Flavors are cut somewhat short and overruled by excessive hopping that leaves a quite unpleasant aftertaste to the beer, sort of a flat warm cola flavor with bitterness accompanying it all the way.

Could be really good with a better hop balance. OK beer, will not re-purchase.
