L: Pours a hickory, forming a moderate espresso head that is slow to fade, revealing a thin layer of khaki retention and a nice spumescent ring around the edge of the glass. Held to the light, this beer has a thick chocolate hue.
S: Aromas of chocolate/cacao nib, roasted malt, coffee, and faint char.
T: Heavy cacao nib and dark chocolate up front. Astringent. There is a strong roasted malt influence, with a hint of lactose and some hops as well. Finishes with some char. Earthy and bitter.
F: Full-bodied. Silky and smooth, with a moderate carbonation.
O: A very well-done imperial stout. No trace of barrel, but a lovely bitter profile. Classic

Black in color with no light penetration. There’s a fingernail of brown around the rim. I smell lots of milk chocolate. I’m tasting lots of milk chocolate and lots of roasted barley. The mouth is surprisingly viscous.
