I visited Sig Brewing a couple weeks back, and I liked it a lot. They had 12 beers on tap on my visit, representing an interesting variety of styles: pastry stout, Belgian witbier, fruited sour, a couple DDH IPAs (hazy or otherwise), a “14x dry hopped quad IPA”, an English pale, an ordinary bitter, American stout, fruited golden ale, a dry-hopped spelt lager, and a “carrot cake cream ale”. How’s THAT for variety? I was quite pleased with the ordinary bitter (you don’t see that every day!) and the 14x dry hopped IPA was something to behold, really. I definitely want to try more of their beers.
They’ve got an industrial but welcoming taproom, with and open-concept kitchen and pizza oven, a window into the brewhouse, and a couple TVs showing sports. In addition to pizzas, they do some pretty tasty bistro-like bar snacks; I had the broccolini small plate which was really really good. Service was super nice and helpful!

Inside, there is a modern industrial feel, but the bar stools are very comfy, the staff is pleasant and the music is upbeat (even if it is mostly pop). The selection of beers is eclectic with a number of tart, sour beers and seltzers, backed up by four interesting sounding IPAs. I ordered the Diffindo Charmhouse, a dry hopped Brett Grisette, which was excellent and paired well with my massive house salad with rosemary lemon house vinegar dressing over grilled chicken, mixed greens, pickled red onions, cucumber, chopped bacon and crumbled chèvre. They also offer a selection of unique sounding brick oven pizzas. The TVs are muted and tuned to both MLB and preseason NFL games. I didn’t get a chance to scope out the outdoor seating, but most incoming clientele appeared to head straight there on this pleasant summer mid-week evening in Tacoma.

this place wasnt even really on our radar when we were hitting the breweries in the area, but i am so glad we found it and rolled up. they were being real careful with social distancing, so we actually had to make a reservation and come back, well worth the wait and i appreciate them keeping everyone safe. the space is smallish but modern feeling, spaced out high top tables where we got a seat, this will be more happening when the pandemic is over for sure, but its got a brightness to it, a roaring wood fired pizza oven in the back, and one of the more inventive been menus ive seen in some time. a step classier than most taprooms, a definite focus on quality, really rad. the beers were nuts, a green colored matcha and coconut ale was impressive, but so was a straight up italian style pils, i was also stoked on a maple and cinnamon stout. the quality of all the beer stood out though, i liked the glassware, everything felt nice and thought out. the food was also a nice surprise, some of the most ambitious pizza ive ever seen. we got one with slow cooked pork, avocado, lime, even had a chili dipping sauce on the side, sort of a green chili base, insanely delicious and interesting, i am already hungry for the rest of the pizza menu here, so sick! the service was attentive and professional, and overall our experience here was just fantastic, immediately one of the best breweries and brewery experiences in town here for my money, and a place i will never not hit when i am in the area, cannot say enough about it, get in here and check them out if you havent yet!
