Had Hollywood Hellcats! poured from pint can, bottom stamped "214289," muled to Mississippi by bro., into nonic pint.

Pours light gold with clarity, a little cloudy when can emptied, and huge creamy near-white head, with excellent retention, leaving chunky rings of lace down the glass. Aroma of big, sweet citrus and a little hop spice off pour, soon joined by aromas of berries and apple, with aromas continuing. On tasting, begins sweet apple and biting citrus, over sweet bread crust malt body, then pine takes over and dominates the bitter and herbal but still fruity and malty finish.

Old-fashioned American Pale Ale meets early West Coast IPA. Your call when you try it--and you should--whether that's a culture clash or serendipitous synergy.

Handsome clear golden amber brew with lots of foam in the snifter. Pleasant sudsy mouthfeel with a distinct tang, though not overly acidic. Quite hoppy, a mineral taste followed by the bitter but clean aftertaste. Some malty body and a sweet touch to start. Aroma of fermenting pineapple, citrus peel, dank woods.

Quite herbal flavored, leafy, green apricot, on the astringent side. This is the classic IPA of the modern era, though one that Stone would have approved of back in the day, for being so pointlessly bitter. Good for a gulp, tho. A fun label that makes me think about Roller Derby. From the 16 oz can. No date.
