Big Dog Craft Brewing "Hefeweizen"
$2.50/5 oz. on tap at the brewery on 24 May 2022
Notes: 4.5% ABV with 10 IBU.
Look: Hazy golden body beneath a short head of bright whtie foam. Average head retention and lacing.
Smell: Bavarian hefeweizen yeast delivers phenolic notes with Banana and lemon over a sweet, wheaty malt base.
Taste: Sweetish wheat with banana and apple. Moderately bitter but still mainly dry in the finish and certainly not cloying.
Feel: Light-medium in body with a moderate carbonation that leaves it a little dull, and which also explains the lack of head retention and lacing.
Overall: Not a bad attempt at the style. It's clean and well brewed to bring out the yeast character but certainly undercarbonated for the style.
