Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a one finger milk chocolate head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, chocolate, nuts and vanilla; somewhat boozy. Flavor is dark toasted malt, vanilla, milk chocolate, pecans and a little dry caramel. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess., nice mouth feel. A rich, flavorful pastry stout. I've had turtle chocolates before, but never a turtle sundae, but this tasted more like a peanut butter cup made with pecans to me than the chocolate confection. Lots of chocolate and vanilla with moderate crushed pecans and a little caramel too. Full bodied in flavor and feel, this should satisfy anyone's itch for a pastry stout. Well done. Big ABV noticeable in the aroma, but well covered in the deeply flavored taste.
