Sweet, malty, toffee and caramel on the nose. Taste is sweet with notes of toffee and caramel with sweet bread, brown sugar, caremlized sugar. Hint of alcohol heat. Light hoppy bitterness on the back end. Nice classic English barleywine.

Had on cask. Clear orangery brown with a cream colored head and lacing. Aromas of barley, golden raisin, faint brown bread, and earth. Taste adds hints of toffee and a kiss of booze, very gentle. Feel is dry, smooth, and warm, without any sign of the booze, almost airy. The wife loved it

Not a category I drink or review often but this is a nice sample. A little sweet of course and that works out OK with the ABV. Made me think of drinking a liquor which is weird 'cuz it really ain't! Pours clear, less head, nit that dark in color. Definitely thumbs up.
