Interesting beer. It’s got so much going on these notes will not do it justice. Aroma has light dark fruit notes with a pronounced bourbon and oak character. Vanilla and black licorice. Taste is pretty tart from the black currants, but combined with the bourbon gives off this black licorice like character. Notes of vanilla, molasses and oak. They describe this as port and damn I can really see it. It’s a sipper, a beer to spend time with.

Had on tap. Faded dark purple with a pinkish collar. Smell and taste are clones: huge boozy port wine flavorings with red grape, both red and black jammy currant, oak, and the bourbon emerging at the end with some black strap molasses. Is a little much on the palate, so definitely a sipper. Booze heat and oak run the feel. Would have rather seen this go into a clean oak barrel
