Brewers Notes: A modern twist on a classic Helles style lager. Adeena hops are paired with Hallertau Mittlefruh and classic German malts. Fresh bread malt flavors meet citrus, floral and spice from the Adeena hops.

On the pour, this beer looks really nice. It is a slightly cloudy deep gold, with a modest but lasting head. The hops come through right up front, though I am not getting any of the maltiness I would expect from a typical helles. The hops are still up front in the taste, though I am detecting a toasty maltiness further in the background than I would prefer. Mouthfeel is nice, with a medium body and a medium level of carbonation. Art History describes this beer as a helles with a modern twist, and though the citrus and spicy notes are pleasant enough, they push this helles far away from the classic example of the style.
