Dr. Brewlittle's Beer Co. "Maple Shade Mutt"
16 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating
$4.25 @ the brewery on 8/22/21
The "mutt" pours a clear straw gold body beneath an inch and a half of bright white foam that holds well and leaves some nice lacing behind. The aroma displays a basic golden maltiness that isn't clearly Pilsner malt, although it might be, and a delicate hint of herbal hops. The flavor follows with the exception of a little bit of a hint of chocolate to it which makes me think that this can was filled as a crowler, and something went wrong with it (started with something else by mistake, poured it out, etc.). I'll just ignore the "Tootsie Roll" flavor and move on until I can get back and grab another sample. It's pretty nicely balanced between sweetish malt and moderate bitterness, and it finishes semi-dry with just a flutter of residual hop flavor. Medium bodied and crisp.
