Pretty black in color. A mocha color head with nice retention and lacing. On the nose I get some grapefruit-like hops, a leafy/green presence, but more than anything some roasted malt. On the palate the grapefruit also comes through but rather subtly, coupling itself with some roasted malts. The roast is maybe a touch bolder than I would like, but everything is pretty well rounded. Nice balance of everything with a medium to full body. Pretty good beer and the first time I've ever had anything from Boreale in years.

Pitch black beer, with some lacing. A little more hoppiness than a typical stout, and some small amount of nice grittiness, à la Founders Breakfast Stout. A really good beer. The best Boréale beer I've had so far. I hope this one becomes easier to acquire.
