A:
Pours a crystal clear dark copper with 2 fingers of fluffy tan head that drops to a patchy film. OK retention; speckled lacing. (3.5)
S:
Malty caramel. Molasses and toasted oats, slightly grainy, herbal vaguely sticky hop touch. (3.25)
T:
Big, rich caramel flavor that has a whiff of bitterness. Same as the nose with a little more dusty, dry leafy hop flavor. (3.25)
M:
Soft drinking and smooth with a light-medium body lasting light coating of the mouth. (3.5)
O:
Pretty good but it all depends on how you look at it.
It pours and drinks pretty nice. It is a malt bomb with a hop backbone and not a bad one. However it would definitely benefit from more hops. Not terrible, though. I imagine this one would be better fresher.
Since it is billed as an IPA, has a whole chart-thing on the back explaining the intricacies of its hops, etc. I rated it as such. If it were supposed to taste like it does and was an American Amber, my scores would definitely be a couple notches higher.
Might have again; if it is super fresh it would be worth a shot maybe. (3.5)

Picked up at Broue Ha Ha in Gatineau Qc. Pours slightly cloud red amber. Taste is similar, but milder than, SN's Flipside Red IPA. Good, would by again, but so far, have preferred the Boréale Monark.
