So this beer is brewed with vanilla, cacao and marshmallow (root I suppose). Like the can shows, it's trying to be a smore tasting beer.
A: Pours pitch black with a mocha colored and very creamy looking head. Retention is pretty good and same goes for the lacing.
S: Smell is quite low in intensity but you do get the trio of vanilla, cacao and marshmallow notes. Quite a bit sweet in the smell too.
T: Medium strength taste with a solid amount of cacao with the vanilla and marshmallow coming in the aftertaste. I would have guessed lactose but there is not as per the brewery website. Roasted notes help to get that roasted marshmallow flavor. Less sweet than anticipated but still enough to make sense with the flavor profile. Simple, straightforward and very very good.
M: Medium in body with a very smooth carbonation. Ideal for the genre.
O: This is a really really good beer from Boréale. It's exactly what it's trying to be, simple as that.

If you are into sweet stouts this one is for you! The brew master says is is supposed to be a liquid version of toasted smores.
It is not overly sweet and has nice carbonation. Starts with vanilla and biscuits, then on to chocolate and toasted marshmallows. The alcohol is well hidden and not overly potent. A great beer in front of a campfire! Well worth looking for if you are in Montreal and like stouts.

A:
It pours thick and black with a sluggish brown head of over an inch. Good retention; stingy lacing. (4)
S:
Brown sugar, cinnamon, roast nuts, lactose/vanilla sweetness. (4)
T:
Big, substantive sweetness. Lightly burnt sugar, cinnamon, coffee, milk chocolate. (4.25)
M:
Medium body with fluffy carbonation and a sweet, toasty finish. (4.25)
O:
An interesting sugar bomb of a beer.
It pours dark and rich looking. The smell is caramelized sugar and cinnamon roll dough. The flavor follows with some cocoa, vanilla, lactose sweetness (I assume) and very lightly spicy roast flavors. It is pretty creamy and very smooth and drinkable. The impression of smores really does come through (the chocolate in the taste the graham cracker in the aroma and the toasted sugar of the marshmallow throughout), but who knows if that is just me being suggestible... Anyway., this is an enjoyable beer that seems to do what it set out to do. I'd have it again. (4.25)
