Serving: Can
Canned: Oct-21-2019 (Consumed Nov-6)
A:
Pours cloudy mango yellow with a skiff of short lived white froth. No lacing, meh retention. (3.75)
S:
Dank weedy and tropical sweetness intermingled. Pineapple, onion, pot, floral kind of sweetness. (4.25)
T:
Grassy hops, mango skin and some earthy bitterness to the finish. (4)
M:
A little fizzy with a crisp and vaguely fruity finish that feels a little softer as it warms a tiny bit but not tons so, medium-plus carbonation, pretty dry finish for the style. (3.75)
O:
A nice twist on the normal Nord-est.
It pours, and generally speaking is, pretty damn nice. It is a little lackluster in look and feel but otherwise is very enjoyable. The Simcoe (I'm guessing) gives it a little more of a sappy quality that I like in a beer like this and it balanced well with the fruitiness of the rest of it. I'd have it again. This is the best of the non-standard versions of this beer I've had to date I think.
