Inspired by our Grandmother's Molasses cookies, we would like to introduce "Cheers to 1 Year", an Imperial Molasses cookie Pastry Stout. This massively thiccc sweet treat is brewed with a dazzling array of specialty grains, gobs of Blackstrap Molasses, brown sugar, and milk sugar to inspire an ultra luscious mouthfeel. We then conditioned this pastry stout on ample amounts of Madagascar vanilla and cinnamon to balance out the sweetness!

500 ml wax capped bottle, looking online this was an August 2021 release. Purchased at Derive when hanging out there with Brutaltruth a while back. I think he might have bought this one for me so thanks! Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half frothy tan had that stuck around for a while. There's also a lot of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like vanilla, cinnamon, burnt/charred malt, cream and molasses. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some dark chocolate, earthy and brown sugar flavors. There's a lot going on here, with no one flavor overpowering the others. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's smooth and a bit coating with a low/moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a pretty good overall imperial stout, hopefully Derive will bring this one back at some point!

From the wax dipped bottle in a snifter. This beefy brew pours a dark
coal black with a nice head of brown foam that settles to a thick ring, thin
dusty layer, and sports some nice lacing. Nose of dark brwon sugars, light
cinnamon, deep char and roast, and light vanilla. Flavors surpass the nose
with a big forward dark cocoa, black strap molasses, heavy char and deep
roasted malts, and lightly warming cinnamon amongst the warming booze.
Nice mouth feel; full body, warming, coating, light carbonation, and a
rich char and bitter malt laden finish.

Overall----very nice, very heavy, and well crafted!

Cheers
