32oz crowler dated 7/9/21 poured into a pint glass on 7/11/21.
Pours 1/2" of off-white head. Opaque, dark-reddish brown color, almost black.
Aromas of burnt malts: brownie edges, chocolate, and coffee.
Flavors start sweet, with burnt chocolate giving way to a more dry finish. A bit of coffee bitterness.
Medium-bodied and slightly astringent mouthfeel. Good amount of effervescence.
A very delicious Irish Red Ale. Looks almost like a stout in the glass, but drinks more like a brown ale. Strong malt flavors without much hop bitterness.
