From the just out of date bottle, it pours a slightly hazy amber color with a really nice off-white head that slowly diminishes as you enjoy the brew and leaves some lacing. The nose gets a bit of honey, spice and some alcohol. The mouth gets a bit of alcohol, a creamy feeling, some slight sweetness and a bit of bitterness that gets you in the back of the mouth.

Pours a slightly hazy, deep golden coloration with a large, foamy head. Smells intensely of citrus and tropical fruit: grapefruit, tangerine, lychee, melon, with a hint of honey sweetness and a very slight bubblegum note. Taste is hop-forward, balanced by biscuity, bready malt. Quite fruity, but with that certain bubblegum character that makes it hard to pinpoint individual notes. Definitely some tangerine, grapefruit in there, maybe melon. Also a slight honey sweetness. Light bitterness coming through in the aftertaste, with a bit of boozyness as well. This was recently re-released. I'm not sure if they changed the recipe (probably though, as the ABV has changed), as I never had it before, but I was not impressed. Nice hoppy fruit presence, but with that bubblegum characteristic. Poorly balanced with too much sweetness and boozyness and not enough bitterness.

Pours a vibrant, hazy, orange colored beer with a giant spongy white head.

This smells amazing, took me totally off guard since I didn't expect such an explosion on the nose. The aromas feature an awesome, very intriguing interplay of water melon pulp, juicy tangerines and crisp lemon peel, soothed by cakey sweet malts. Complex, yet fruity in appearance a floral quality adds to the hops together with a hint of wild honey and ice bonbons.

Has a very smooth mouthfeel with a medium carbonation level, finishing silk with an aqueous softness, while the palate is happily engaged with sorting out the different flavor layers till the very end. Definitely fuller bodied, especially during the mid palate with a chewy aspect to it, while maintaining its world class soft mouthfeel.

Tastes of an almost creamy softness, which defines the beer throughout, coating up mild and juicy tangerine pulp, mango and prickly lemon pulp. This well nuanced fruitiness gets balanced by straw, brighter sweet malts, heading into a biscuity direction and soft white bread dough. Offers a pleasant lemon bitterness which is there right at the beginning, accompanying the flavors till the end. While not screaming for attention it builds up for a nice, fruity dryness during the finish, never forgetting about its sweeter, peppery, spicy malt backbone.

This is an awesome beer. Incredibly well balanced and just a beauty to look at. Its giant head receeds to a thick and stable half finger broad cover and stays there for the entire time. And its taste is so rich for a self declared Lager, inspired by Belgian Saisons and US Ipas, bringing all those aspects together in perfect harmony, without denying its origin. A perfect example of where craft beer within germany could lead,
