Spicket River Brewery

Quite chill and quiet on a hot Friday afternoon in August. This bar is located on an island in the Merrimack River in one of the old brick warehouses. The room is all brick with large windows and high ceilings. Spacious with the brewery located directly behind the bar.

There are 11 beers on tap of which there are 6 of the imperial variety (4 ales; 2 lagers). Only one darker beer--a Porter, and one sour. The flight (5 beers/$15) was served on a painter's palette. The place sells bar pizza although I didn't partake.

If I were in this area again, I wouldn't hesitate to stop.

 

Spicket River is located in a really cool town of Lawrence....down near the river front....but not exactly on the river....there are really cool industrial buildings lining the river and Spicket occupies space just off the river...sort of behind other buildings. There was plenty of seating both outside and in.....fairly busy for a Friday evening. The quality of the beer was average to above average. The girls serving beers were really cool and attentive. There was about 8 beers to choose from and I would say somewhat limited relative to other breweries. Overall, Spicket is a cool place and one should stop by if in the area hunting for libations.
