Canned in a big old tallboy crafty craft can and purchased from Beermoth in Manchester City centre
Pours jet black body with good tan head
Aroma is intense coffee grounds & serious cigar

L- Inky black, even a halogen torch behind cannot get a photon through beer. Pours with 2mm dark tan head.
S- Deeply toasty, slightly smokey, reminiscent of a log fireplace the morning after.
T- Coffee, smoke notes, deeply roasted/toasted. All of them are big and prominent, this is a statement flavour going on.
F- It's not sweet (mercifully), it has some richness though, of course, being 10% it'd likely be undrinkable if it hadn't. It is a notably pungent beer and has the mouthfeel to carry it off (balance it out).
O- A big-beast of a stout. The major facet here for me is BIG coffee. That seems so prominent that I don't even wonder how they manage to mask the 10% so well. There is nothing I notice out of place, or unwelcome/'wrong', but TBH even as an espresso fan I'm not sure I like my beer tasting like one enough to buy this beer again. Meanwhile I'll have no problem enjoying this one through to the end...
Bought from TremblingMadness/York £6.99 as part of a DIY mixed-case for home delivery to London. 440ml crafty-can. Canned: 01/12/20 BBE: 01/12/23. The ingredients reveal that this is brewed with added coffee+vanilla. There you go, no wonder...
