Sometimes we just can't help ourselves. This beer is simply a celebration of hops- six different varieties in three different formats were loaded into this mouth watering elixir. Consider this our love letter to the venerable Humulus Lupulus, and to you.
Malt: Pilsner, Vienna, Carahell
Hops: Columbus, Chinook, Mosaic Cryo, Idaho 7, Cascade, Simcoe

I'm a sucker for WCIPAs but am always a skeptic these days. In fact, one of Meanwhile's flagships brews is Secret Beach which is labeled as a West Cost but to my taste lacks the bitterness that I'd expect.
Enter Serial Optimist. Its tasting notes list "strawberry, orange, and pine". This one seemed like a bit of a mixed bag -- strawberry and orange, Ok maybe not what I would expect from a WCIPA, and pine last? Hmm. I was skeptical.
But I was surprised to find that this is actually a nice, bitter WCIPA. It's not over-the-top or anything, and the pine isn't quite as prominent as I'd like (though it's definitely present), but it's still a surprisingly good beer, and IMO, much better than Secret Beach (not a bad beer by any stretch but it's much more of a departure from the original style).
Just add a touch of dankness and I think it would push this one over the top. As it stands, still very good.
Cheers to more (actual) WCIPAs!

Poured from a can into a tulip glass, can dated 6/30/23.
Bright clear yellow color with good initial head and some lacing. Definitely a West Coast profile. Fruity up front with a bitter, piney finish. Good feel for the style. Decent beer overall. A beer I would like to try fresh from the tap.
