Diving into the tropical depths of some of our favorite hops, this juicy IPA is packed with fruit flavors that leave you dreaming of paradise. Exactly what an octopus would dreamily conceive of in the long passage of time on the ocean floor. Glub glub glub.

Picked up a four pack of pint cans. Date on can: 01/05/2024.
Pours a hazy, juicy golden color with hints of copper and a wonderful, frothy, finger-thick white head on top with decent retention and plenty of lacing on the glass as you drink. Carbonation is a bit hard to see, but it seems moderate to low with smaller, creamy bubbles appearing on top if you swish the beer around. Pretty standard look for the style, which I have always found to be very aesthetically enticing.
Very fruity on the nose with pear, mango, citrus, pine and spice. It's a bit of a soapy smell on the whole. There is also a sweet, doughiness lingering in the background. It's a very familiar aroma. While not displeasing, not really breaking any new ground either.
Basically the same on the palate as on the nose. Lots of fruitiness, dominated by mango, pear and citrus. There's a decent amount of malts to balance it out, body wise anyway, though it's pretty hard to discern their flavors as the hops clearly dominate here. Maybe a bit crackery. There's a bit of earthiness in the finish, as well as pulp, which lingers after the swallow. This is somehow not as pungent as I expected. There is a fair amount of complexity in the hops, but it somehow comes off as a bit bland to me. Maybe I'm just getting bored with beers of this style.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation that has a bit of bite on the swallow. It drinks very clean and smooth and finishes a bit crisp and dry. This one isn't much of a palate wrecker. This definitely comes off a bit thin for the style, but that does lend to it's drinkability, which is pretty high considering the ABV.
This is a very solid brew. My stomach seems to like it, it drinks easy and is actually quite refreshing which I did not expect for the style or ABV. Is this not a New England style IPA? Certainly drinks like one. This isn't my favorite type of IPA, in fact, I'm probably getting quite bored of this style. This is quality stuff, but this also might be the most un-excited I've been about a beer I've rated 4.25+. Even with it's price point aside (why is everything from this brewing company so expensive?), I probably would not seek this out myself, but I wouldn't be displeased if someone offered it to me. Cheers!
