Well, first of all, it appears as though Curious Fellow is misidentified here in BA. The can, which has a playful, quirky, artsy design, specifically identifies Fellow as a West Coast IPA, not an India Pale Lager, as identified here. So there's that. Maybe they have released multiple Fellows? Not sure. But what I'm drinking and reviewing is an IPA. Just know that first.

Curious Fellow pours a bright golden straw color. Hazy, but apparently not East Coast hazy, which is just fine by me. It's a pretty beer, though, for sure. The nose has notes of apricot, orange and banana with a distinctly earthy, malty scent to it. It's a subtle aroma, but really nice. The taste is fruity up front, with a malted sweetness that quickly takes over. But it's dry and finishes with a satisfying hoppy bitterness to it. Delicious. Mouthfeel is firm but dry. Clean and refreshing.

This is a damn fine beer if you ask me. Impressive from start to finish. Honestly, I hate paying $22 for a damn 4-pack, but if I'm going to do it I'd like it to be for a quality brew like this. Kudos to the good people at Meanwhile.

Thin gold pour, fairly clear, tight white head, suggestions of lace. Nose has light citrus with a varied grain bag attached.

Taste sees mild lemon pop up, along with some corn, Pilsner peeking in, pink grapefruit rind joins the fray. Mouthfeel is medium, with the ABV fairly subdued.

I usually stray away from maize in it's various beer forms (bit sweet, or...) but this beer balanced it pretty well. I think the ABV did balance some of the sweetness.
