Head is short and fizzy, no strength in it at all, like soda pop. Cap falls into a beer that looks nearly still with no lacing or head except the constant carbonation rising to the surface.
Aroma is weak and watery roast with a lot of lactose.
Flavors have a lot of lactose also, i can't believe this is a regular beer for this brewery, it is such an obvious flaw. Watery coffee.
Thin mouthfeel with a lot of carbonation.
They need to stop making this, it's embarrassing.
3/c = average.

Thanks to Cuzco for throwing me a few of these in a BIF.
Appearance: Pours a relatively clear darkish brown. Head forms quickly and aggressively. Dark tan/espresso. Huge carbonation. Head forms quickly and disappears almost as fast. It looks and pours like Coke. I'm looking at it, and if I didn't know it was beer, I'd think I just poured a soda. No head retention of lacing. Fizzy.
Smell: Sweet. Leather. Some touches of char. Loads of bitter, dark chocolate. Dark fruit gone a little over prime. Hits like a Tootsie Pop, as in candy sweetness layered over weird chocolate. Slightly roasted. Touches of caramel.
Taste: Milk chocolate. Bright carbonation. Some minor citrus notes? Old leather. Wet cardboard, but it's minor. Some roasted notes. Small caramel sweetness. Odd grassy earthiness. Chocolate, but it's not layered. Minor burnt.
Mouthfeel: Almost comes across as thin because of the carbonation. Seriously overcarbonated. Some dryness on the finish.
Overall: Beer soda.
Is this a real thing? Did I miss the memo? It's malted chocolate soda. It's interesting though.

Cheers to Goblinmunkey7 for giving me a bottle of this
Consumed 8/14/12
Appearance: Black with some brown around the edges, pours with a very large, fizzy, tan head - quickly fades to a creamy, yet mostly fizzy cap, then to nothing - minimal lacing
Smell: Lots of chocolate - chocolate malts, dark chocolate - lightly burnt and roasty - some light sweetness, slightly candy-like, like a Tootsie Roll - some other malty aroma, kind of reminds me of oats
Taste: Again, chocolate and not much else - chocolate malts, dark chocolate, and Tootsie Rolls - lightly sweet, lightly burnt, not particularly bitter - roasty, earthy, and dry - a vague hint of grassy hops
Mouthfeel: Oddly fizzy and overly carbonated - kind of tastes like soda from a fountain - somewhat light body, weird
Overall: Good, but with some notable flaws
There are some good aromas and flavors here. Unfortunately, there are some notable issues with the mouthfeel. Dry and roasty, yet fizzy and seltzer-like. Not bad, but far from great.
