One inch of creamy almond head is long lasting. SRM 17-19 (dirty copper) with haziness. Interestingly, the carbonation sparkles, lasting a few seconds after the pour. A thick, residual webbing works its way down the walls of a Pretentious Glass Company Lager pint. The head maintains a blanket for the duration.
I'm detecting no hops in the aroma, however charred sugar and peanut shells are obvious. This is fairly simple, as expected.
The flavor is malty, with sweetness outweighing bitterness, although both are moderate to low. Brown sugar gives way to mild celery. Pepper bubbles up with sun tea. The finish is mild, lingering, and slightly bitter.
A full body and flannel texture are soft against modest carbonation. Alcohol is as per the label.
This is a decent beer and probably best after hard work on a hot day. Warmth was a good friend to this beer.

On tap it was clear, medium amber in color with a big bubbled white head. Some lace cling and retention but nothing of note.
Aroma is big on the old school Ringwood nose of bread grain and butterscotch in arguably an appropriate to style way.
That scorched sugar sweetness carries through the flavor with a soft kick of bittering at the back end.
Not bad from a NY brewery that keeps hitting singles and doubles if not home runs in the shadow of Ommegang.

16 ounce can shared - from brewery.
Pours a bright near clear copper colour with half finger of fine bubbly white head.
Malty on the nose - bread, caramel, some toffee, and slightly floral. Hint of citrus.
Pleasantly sweet on the palate - caramel, toffee, and bread; some soft citrus and spicy hops. No overt bitterness.
Smooth light medium mouthfeel - malty sweet and completely enjoyable and easy drinking.

On tap at Upstate Bar and Grill in Cooperstown, NY.
This one pours a light and slightly murky reddish color, with a small head, and a bit of lacing.
This doesn't smell like a whole lot, unfortunately. There's a bit of caramel and maybe some hop character on the nose, but it's very tepid and light.
There's just not much to this one. It doesn't really taste bad, per se, but it also makes just about zero impression. There's a touch of malt sweetness, and no real hop character. It just tastes kinda watery, unfortunately.
This thin, and wispy, and leaves no real impression on the back end - the taste sort of just falls off the cliff.
I can't really suggest this one to anybody. It won't really appeal to any sort of beer drinker.

Pours 1+ finger of pale off white creamy head, plenty of lace around edge of glass that lasts
Color is a reddish-brown hue
Nose is sweet malt-flowery-mild pepper
Taste is sweet and spicy-lite peppery bite-no harsh hop flavors
Mouth feel is creamy easy drinking-sweet tea or caramel malt tastes
Not big on baseball but at 5.5 ABV this would be a great beer to drink while sitting at the park watching a game

DATE: November 11, 2018... OCCASION: celebrating four days well spent--cleaning, repairing, sports watching--with a baseball beer? Why not... GLASSWARE: Victory Hop Devil nonick... pours from a 16 oz. can a light amber orange body full of life and effervescence, which builds a thick, two-finger off-white head that pillows to fluffy cambering... in short, it fits the bill of its label... the nose is greeted by nicely toasted malts, mild spiciness, floral hops, light tea, and enough caramel to whet the appetite.... its first sip is soft, buttery, and welcoming... at 5.5% ABV, a sessionable, somewhat thin body... its finish is apologetic and brief in its length... not much buzz at the teeth either.... pleasantly enough, toffee couples with the caramel to offer a singular profile of maltiness--sweet but refreshing, with its toasted malts stating its case... not a Hall of Famer, but worthy of consideration by the veterans' committee... definitely an every day kind of beer...
