Flavor rich American Stout, brewed with roasted barley, chocolate malt, and flaked oats, creating a complex full-bodied beer with notes of coffee and smoke. Served on nitro.

Pours dark brown (SRM 34-36). A brief token head immediately fails and leaves no lace. The only character is dark cola highlights within a tall, double-walled pint glass.
The aroma is filled with robust roasted malt. Powdered cocoa and black coffee add some character.
The flavor is surprisingly bitter for the style. It also has light astringency. Black coffee and light sweetness give way to a long, roasted malt finish.
The carbonation is nearly flat, while alcohol is about as expected. It has a medium body and watery texture.
While this is an okay beer, it is disappointing, as I had expected and hoped for better. Dismissing the expectations one would have of an Oatmeal Stout, this is a decent drinking beer on a mild, summer afternoon out back.
