On tap at Frequentem Brewing in Canandaigua, NY.

This one pours a fairly dark black, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.

This smells like roasted malt, some astringency, dark fruit, and chocolate.

I like the idea of this better than the execution itself, unfortunately. It’s thin and a bit astringent, and I don’t get a ton of overt character from the blackberry brandy barrel. I get a little bit of vanilla but not really any almond, unfortunately.

This is thin, and not super drinkable, with a little bit of a harsh finish.

The cherry brandy version of this, while not perfect, was definitely better.
