Crowler purchased at Frequentem Brewing in Canandaigua, NY.
This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells toasty, with some roasty coffee notes, a light oakiness, some spicy hop character, and chocolate.
Their regular Black Rice lager was excellent, and this adds a wonderful oaky dimension that of course I’m going to dig. There’s some great spicy and leafy hop character, lots of chocolate and coffee, and an excellent crisp toastiness that I assume is derived from the rice.
This is medium bodied, super creamy, and super drinkable.
I love all of the foeder aged lagers that Frequentem has done – they are just so pleasant and enjoyable to drink, always.
